But rather than sell the top half, sell the bottom half. In terms of profitability for somebody looking to grow the top cut of animals will grow better and be ready for market quicker than the smaller ones. If you have to get up every day and do chores, you might as well do it with animals with the highest potential. I do agree that you can grow both enterprises by turning a portion of your calf crop into cows each year. | |
