| Overcrowding is normal, BUT that is NOT what was asked. What WAS asked was how long would you keep fat bred cows. They even said some had aborted and been bred back. Well, my experience with those is they never perform up to potential again anyway. So, IF, they have plenty of replacements, why keep those cows that could lead to more headaches later? Or why keep them if they are not milking much? Are they paying for the feed they are putting into them? If not then either they need to be sold, OR moved to the dry cow pen which typically has a cheaper ration. But there too, if you have them dry to long, you have can have problems at calving in the next lactation. So again, why keep them? | |
