Faunsdale, AL
We've got 3 pieces of land that are several miles away from the home place and no one lives at any of them.. County road runs right through the home place and have mulitple pastures along it with all ages of cattle in them. All we have are Jerseys, so most folks know who to call if they see one out somewhere.

On one occasion we got a call about 5 am that our heifers were out on the state highway near one of the pastures a few miles away and were headed south. We called some employees that lived in the next community down the highway and we struck out from our end to get them off the highway. They had run/been run by cars about 4 miles by the time we got them turned around and headed back toward our pasture. We drove them into the lane that leads to the gate of our pasture just as it was getting good daylight only to realize that the gate was still closed and our heifers were all on the other side of it! Turns out they were from a neighbor to the north another 3 miles! None hurt and no wrecks. Did have a trucker get a wheel off the pavement and snap a driveshaft when he was spinning in the grass and came back up on the pavement. Very lucky!
