Subject: RE: A corn crop finally...................

north central Oklahoma
I will do it again as a double crop. It can't perform any worse than double crop beans in this area. Biggest problem is dr ydown in the cooler November time frame. The main season beans are doing well this year as are most summer crops. My plans are to blade in NH3 right behind combine with fallowmaster sweeps, then shoot for July 4 +/- plant date, a little earlier than I did this year due to mud. Mud was a mixed blessing, it caused delays in planting, but took the plant well past August heat with plenty of subsoil moisture. I try to stay no-till, but our history here in NC Oklahoma is to go from having sufficient moisture during harvest to not being able to penetrate the ground with a pick axe the first week of July, so I will apply NH3 with blades instead of knives to leave a looser seedbed. I will post back next year after my first crop failure on double crop corn.Embarassed
