Subject: Re: genomics

I am a small dairy as well I'm a long term invester in genetics "my philosiphy being build from what u have first buy from the barn what u don't have second and make informed decisions about your sire selection" I'm sure that will be written in an encyclopedia somewhere someday. The point is as a small breeder herd at this point in the game genomics allows me to get genes into my herd that very few other people have at a low cost. That is my goal the overused phrase "genomics is a tool" and that is how I'm using it. Remember proofs aren't bulletproof either we can all list off examples ( most of the semex lineup) rumours flying around about the next best thing and I have half my heard to prove that. I am truely just using bulls the same as I did when proofs came out. Just available genes that save buying hyperinflated auction prices. Try lookong at it that way and no show cows please there has been enough time and money wasted, we need transmitters.
