| Maybe instead of using 5 year production averages (which is ten years if you rotate the farm) RMA could come up with some kind of trendline production figure. Using 10 year old production history really hampers the proven yields. I've considered taking a 5-10 acre patch of the best ground in each field and making it the opposite rotation of the larger part just to boost my APH. But that just seems like too much extra work right now. As a young producer, I also struggle with having to plug T-yields into some fields. Sometimes T-yields are 25-30 bu below my 5 year average on corn.
