Subject: Idaho Hay sales

Split load weighing is very common here on Idaho dairies. Very few of them have level approaches and as the many post above have stated, weight's will not be accurate.
Lot's of free hay going to the many dairies, with cows now over 600,000 here in So. Idaho.
Years ago we put in our own 150' scale which weighs full loads of triple trailers. Triples are common here in Idaho, hauling from 35 to 40 big square bales.
I found that after we started selling only off our certified scale, that our year end tonnage went up alot.
The first year our scale was in use, I figured we earned an extra $50,000 on basically the same number of bales. Truck load weight's went up. With about 500 loads per year, and loads ave. 500-1200 lbs light, that added up to alot of cash I was not getting.
