Subject: RE: I gotta question.

Baldwin City, KS
Last year, my brother and I sold corn to a neighbor who has an on farm scale. The name of the scale company is on the tip of my tounge, but anyway, it was one of those scales that could only weigh maybe a pair of axles at a time. We hauled grain with a tag axle truck and it would weigh the front axle, then a light would signal you to pull up and you could weigh the twins. After reading this post, I'm wondering is this considered split weighing since the scale is actually designed for the task? How accurate is this type of scale?
When I take the old tag axle truck to the elevator I am in the habit of dumping the air on the tag right as I'm leaving the pit. Would this change anything on weight as opposed to if I just left it on the ground?
