Texas/New Mexico Stateline | Yes, I have 40" rows, mainly because that is what I have to plant with and don't want to buy another planter, but 30"s work good for dryland also. My milo is always intentional. I rotate between wheat and milo, with a fallow period between. I am not sure why folks would say "it don't work here" I guess we have been on the wrong track all these years. For dryland milo I need to make at least 2000lbs/acre to make money, so anything beyond that is good. I have never made more than about 4000lbs dryland, but know of others that have. I think for my row spacing and plant population, fertility, 4500-5000lbs would be the max potential if everything went just right. It is very itchy to harvest but I don't know how it compares to barley. It is a grass-type plant like sudan, or even Johnsongrass. Seed is about 1/8 inch across. (Maybe 3-4mm)
