SW MN and Gold Canyon AZ | You only have 6$ beans in your area?? Use $8.5 a bu or 9$ and the first variety lost even with the premium. The last one did better. The higher the price of beans the more any yield loss is magnified. This year is totally different than last year because the prices are different.
Its not just yield ----its price also that should be figured into any net dollars gained from specialty products.
If you don't beleive me calculate the first 2 varieties using 5$ beans then do it with 9$ beans and see what you come up with.
In your plot with present prices the first variety didn't pay out but the last one did. Goes to show one must do his homework when selecting varieties.
