WCNY
I use 6 - 8 oz banvel and 1.5 qt glyphosate (only for grass present) this time of year. I will be spraying next week as long as there is enough regrowth (due to drought), I like to have a minimum of 8 inches. I have been advised to spray latter in october so that there will be less chance for nitrate leaching when the soils are warmer but I don't get as good of kill after a heavy frost or freeze. I had tried 2-4d and glyphosate with very mixed results, banvel will smoke alfalfa by itself just about anytime of year as long as there is enough re growth even up to blossom. My experience with bugs is nonexistent, but I use a mid rate insecticide on the seed. No tillage used after, except spring striptil. works great for me
