You will get best results with 4-6" of top growth, then use a mix of 1.5 quarts per acre of glyphosate, mixed with 2,4-D LVE at 1 pint per acre. Not sure of labeling on DUAL at present time, but adding a half rate of DUAL was a common practice in here some years back.
The advise of a RR corn is good, I would prefer a LL Herculux package myself. I just think the HX package is better for insect control.
