North End I-15
Have had good results spraying out alfalfa /grass stands and direct seeding wheat in to the sod in the spring. First year yields are not great but it sure picks up the 2nd and 3rd year. Very low N input needed . One should be seeding 100 acres of alfalfa and breaking out 100 acres every year. I have one field that was in alfalfa for 20 years , Have continuous cropped it for the past 5 years never less than 50 bu. of malt quality barley. The first year was a bit high on protein but could blend it off. Maximum N in put has been 20 lbs as starter.
