Subject: Harvest moisture

I have been reading of all the people harvesting and was wondering what moisture you start. I know this varies tremendously with operators, but around here there has been very little activity except on high moisture corn going to feedlots. I usually don't start until corn is down to at least 17. Most people around here don't do much drying and I do no drying other than the natural air drying, never use any heat.

I am in SE Nebraska.

I hand shelled what I would expect my driest corn to be yesterday, planted on bean ground on April 21, 114 day hybrid, 19.5 moisture according to my tester which is pretty accurate in my experience.
