Subject: Growing Wheat in the South: Workshop

Ashburn, GA, (very close to Heaven!)

There are some excellent profit opportunities for wheat in 2008, as we all know. Here we have the chance for some great profits from double cropping wheat with soybeans, cotton, or grain sorghum. Wheat production down here is not without its challenges, as we have to manage for Hessian Fly, aphids, powdery mildew, rust, and vernalization.

The Georgia Association of Professional Agricultural Consultants (GAPAC), with educational support from the University of Georgia is sponsoring a workshop in at the Rural Development Center, UGA Campus, Tifton, on Thursday October 11th. Early registration expires September 30 for $15, $20 at the door. The program is open to consultants, county agents, retailers, industry representatives, and others. It is being sponsored by GAPAC with some funding assistance from AgSouth Genetics, BASF, Dupont, Bayer, Dow AgroSciences, and Syngenta.

More information is at the GAPAC website, with registration instructions at the calendar page there, along with a program brochure .
