NW Mississippi | We have our refuge in DP 147 RF and it held up better than any other variety on the farm during the heat. The hot nights hurt us as much or more than the hot days I believe. Some of those guys out west have hot days, but the nights tend to be cooler.
In many of the fields of 147, the dryland looks like it was irrigated. Our last rain worth mentioning was the beginning of July (we have had late rain since then but all it did was help fill out some upper bolls. So far I am impressed with this variety. We will see how it gins out.
We also have some DP 143 B2RF, and it looks good where it was irrigated. Did not hold out near as well as the 147 RF in dryland though. | |
