Fabric check strips that are plowed into the ground. Basically a heavy landscape fabric put a foot or so in the ground with a couple feet on top of the ground, supposed to help stop washing. http://www.agridrain.com/erosionproduct.asp?prodtype=912 Thanks to you and all others for your responses.
