| I know several people who use it. And was just talking to someone setting a system up today. From what I hear it makes sealing easier when you are using a disc to inject though I don't think it is absolutely necessary. They seem to want to direct a high pressure flow of NH3 from a tube mounted slightly behind the liquid tube at the base of the boot of the opener so that the NH3 interacts with the liquid shortly after coming out of the orifice. They will typically use 1/4 in I.D. tubing for the NH3. Boot geometry is everything. It seems to be popular in Kansas along with planter applied NH3. I also know people who use it in conjunction with dry fert. There seems to be sort of a community of people who use this product. As for the agronomy of all this. I would like to know more also. I have heard of it working well when you are applying 80-120lbs 4-5 inches from the furrow and 4-5 inches deep on the planter. JDB | |
