ECIL | Are you looking at gas or electric? A friend of mine owns an appliance repair business. He said for gas the GE's are the best for the user. He does the fewest repairs on them. With a flat top I'm assuming you mean electric. They are easy to use and clean but you do have to watch spills and boil overs with them. The glass can get damaged. If one heating element goes out you will likely need to replace the entire top, which is spendy. We had one. The thermostat for the oven went bad and it had one other minor problem. We bought a good new gas model for what the repairs would have cost on the electric flat top. | |
