Subject: RE: marriage advice about dangerous farm work

Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa

Your situation reminded me of an event the second summer we were married.  Husband worked for a local fertilizer/chemical supplier as the main mechanic and maintenance person.  I'd gotten home from work one afternoon and knew he was still at work, so I drove on into town to see if he had a minute to visit.  When I pulled into the lot, one of the first things I saw was my dear new husband hanging by one knee off the catwalk at the top of the fertilizer leg, welding upside down.  I did a big ol' U-ee in the drive and headed back home.  Figured if he was gonna splat from that height, I at least didn't need to watch it.  He didn't.  He's much more safety conscious now...........41 years later.
