Kansas | I did John. It was easier to grab that string and give a lil pull then to try and wedge your finger under the release and flip it. Especially for the way I used it.
I used to rope the cows that had lost thier ear tags while I was taggin the baby calf. I would then toss the lead end around the arms of the deweze bed that clamps the bale and then suck the cow up and put an ear tag in her so I could identify momma and baby come spring when we worked the cattle. By then, momma was a pretty fired up boss and grabbing that lil string to pull the release was alot easier to do.
All I had put on there was doubled up round baler twine. When it broke, then that was a fun one to try and get the release to let hold.
