We use it ALOT- and I really like it for bigger calves over 600 lbs the biggest we did was 1100lbs.
They do much better than being knife cut at that size.
Down side is that you NEED active tetanus protection.
Either give them a tetanus shot two weeks before doing it or fork out the $$ for the anti-toxin.

Under 600lbs and we just knife cut.

I have less trouble with swelling and discomfort- and NEVER had one bleed to death using it. And with the big calves its alot easier on the puller those big nuts can really wear you out.
