These are made by Mirifont. They are insulated. We installed them with the tube into the earth for heat. They have the ball. They also have a 40 watt heating element in case it gets really cold and you do not have cattle drinking all the time. We have no problem with them in Southwest Missouri, which is probably warmer than where you are.
