Thumb of Michigan | Everything else being equal, the 30's will be able to capture more sunlight longer into the growing season vs narrower rows. This is assuming that a bush type soy is being planted. We think that the additional sunlight equates into bigger yields on some of the better soils here. I know Michigan State University as well as many posters here claim that the farther north one goes, the narrower the rows should be. Haven't seen it ( the yield advantage) here in corn and soys. | |
