| We grew tomatoes in straw bales last year & have them growing this year in same bales, we put about a foot of soil on top of the bales. We had good luck with them last year. We added more soil to the bales this year. The tomatoes look good , have small tomatoes on them now. We mulch them heavy with old hay, water them good once a week unless it rains. It hasn't rained here for about 3 weeks, need it real bad. | |
