We have had the same issue with our cows. They bunch up in what seems to me to be the hot end of the barn. We put in the Big Ass fans a year ago, 2 seasons now, and it didn't seem to make any difference.

They are cows. And females. They will do what they want. Logic has no meaning for them. Don't lose any sleep trying to make sense of it.
