| I intend to try my first field of no-till Alfalfa this fall. It's actually my third field, but the other two were pasture burn downs, this is wheat stubble. The gentleman that I get all my Plastic wrap, Netwrap, and Twine off of swears by it. If you burn down grass, and don't do an intermediate covercrop, like wheat, then I would definately put down Lorsban with the Alfalfa. There's all kinds of bugs, and slugs, and various things that like to eat Alfalfa in old grass stands, at least around here. Either way you do it, you're probably going to get volunteer grass to deal with, plus, working it brings up that many more old weed seeds. You'll be amazed what will come up in there if you work it.
