Subject: Slaughter weights

Blue Earth, MN
Anyone else seen a decline in their slaughter weights recently? We haven't changed our feeding or had any major changes in breeding stock, but our hanging weights on freezer beef have been slowly getting lighter. We normally see 58 to 60% yield, but the last three have been declining. I do understand and expect some variance but, the last 3 have come in at 57, 55 and 54%. They all look good in the lot, but would appreciate any input on what to check? We have cow calf operation, plenty of pasture, creep feed and wean. After weaning, free choice hay and metered grain with limited supplements and no hormones until 600 or so and then full corn. Have always been consistent until now and curious. Any input is welcome.
