When you're on the page that lists all of the different forums go over to the right side near the top and click on the words "Posts active today".
That should pretty much do what you want without making the rest of us suffer through the stupidity of how most other boards are arranged.
I guess we'll have to disagree on the question of "stupidity" but I do appreciate the help!
