| A spinner spreader with the spinner speed too high will do the same thing with urea with no pre-crushed granules. Spinner speeds above 550 rpm (and this varies with the urea) will crush urea. You can not see this without the pattern test pans. We will spread urea with a spinner spreader instead of an air spreader in rows and where the swath will not work right for the boom. I will also say that it takes a really bad job to show streaks like that. I have went back to see the effects of a fenced corner with a Case air spreader. It is impossible to do it "right" with the mid-mounted air boom in the corner. The color difference was not nearly as bad as I was afraid it would be. Blended fertilizers have similar problems with spinner machines. | |
