Yes, and NO! Brand X does have just as much of a chance of winning as does the same hybrid ( or theroretical maturity) from brand Y.

Since the other hybrids from Brand Y are different maturities, the brand Y chances have multiplied because you have spread the matuity and therefore the chance that one of the many will hit the weather pattern for that given year, in that location. Brand X only has one chance to make it big and if the weather pattern doesn't cooperate that year in that location, it loses.
