| My mother has a cousin in So. Dak. that did just that back in the late 80's. He bought a section and 1/3 was crops, 1/3 was cattle, and 1/3 was turned into pheasant hunting. Remodeled his parents old farmhouse into lodging, started raising & selling black labs and hosted the paying customers. He said the pheasant hunting is what paid for that land.
My guess is that it's plenty of extra work (especially during harvest) but it does diversify the revenue stream.
