Subject: deer control

What does everyone do for deer control? I know the best way is to shoot them but there are to many houses and landowners that dont want the does killed. A custom guy is getting me some kind of hot sauce to spray on the corn but hes not guaranteing(sp) anything. We grow some shade trees for landscaping and we throw bars of soap around to keep the bucks from rubbing but theres just to much corn and to many fields to do that. Did any one ever try spraying soap on the corn but i think that will just wash off in the first rain. Thanks for any help.
