First off are there any native forages or introduced grasses growing in your area? If so I can not see hoof action destroy a stand unless you get back on the paddock before a long 60 day plus rest period. Maybe you need to move the cattle sooner also, remember stock density is not the same as stock rate. You may have upped your stock density and enlarged your stock rate also so you will not get the proper rest period.
