Scattering corn works best, turpentine is iffy at best on birds, I've heard of it working on rodents in a 0-till situation. Don't give in to the temptation to poison them, or the "overpaid pricks" will be hunting on your land anyway when the state gets done prosecuting you and takes the farm!
