Europe has fuel twice as high, they've used rail extensively for years. Maybe we'll be forced into it.

In Ag we are pretty well positioned for a post-gas world. Ethanol works pretty well. A couple hundred bushels of corn would fuel a medium sized car for a year. 50 acres of beans would provide enough bio diesel for tractors for a midsized farm, although combining in cold weather would be a bit problematic. With the lack of commercial fertilizer, rotations with alfalfa and other legumes will become more popular.

I guess I'll let the kids worry about it.
