Dodge Co, Wi | Nathan, right now they are heavy in the Kent/Essex area, but you can definitely find them here in Lambton/Middlesex...most fields around here have <5% defioliation and I haven't personally seen more than 2 beetles this spring so far, but they are here. The threshold to spray while at the seedling stage (emerging-1st trifoliate ibelieve) is 16 beetles per foot of row, after that if I remember right it's about 10-20% defoliation up to and including flowering and 25-30% after pod set. I'm pretty sure though that OMAFRA should have the accurate thresholds online.
Last year the guys down in Kent/Essex were saying similar things and we never had them move up here to the same extent that they went through, so I'm not sure if the BLB will move up here or not, depends on weather I guess like Ed mentioned.
