Young sires and live bulls can also move your herd genetics in a certain direction, IF you use a larger number of them. But your animals will have more variation in their resulting phenotype (what they look like and how they perform).
Most of the time, conception rates are going to be higher with the live bulls, but you need to watch how many cows/heifers you are trying to cover.
