| It's pheasants around here Jim. Last year we had a 20 acre field next to a couple of shelterbelts that we lost 5 acres to on the north side where there is a wetland. It was for silage and I went back in and reseeded it the 3rd week of May and the pheasants got it again. Lesson learned. We've planted thousands of trees over the last 30 years for livestock and wildlife protection but sometimes it can be frustrating. We winter close to a thousand birds here when we have a hard winter, of course the Pheasants Forever friends are thankful, but you never hear from them talk crop damage in the spring. | |
