We have a small area of what sounds about the same here. I estimated the holes to be closer to 1" in diameter. Figured it was pheasants -- we don't have any turkeys and my wife saw pheasants in that area of the field. Worst part for me is that they got a small area near my mailbox right next to the road leading to our place -- I get to look at it for the rest of the summer now :-( My question is are they going after what's left of the corn seed or insects next to it? The plants that were left that they dug around looked pretty sick with their roots loosened up. One of my seed reps looked at it and said that he could retire now -- thought he had seen everything after this.
