Matt, not sure the wandering is something we have to deal with. In previous years when experimenting with the system the planter seemed to settle into the stripos and stay put.

The things we have changed since then is that we have gone from an 8 row deere to a 12 row kinze. the main differnce between them being the width. The other differnce was the conditions the strips were installed in. Previous years and earlier in the season last year (prior to monsoon season) the stripper would create a worked zone 7-8" wide and 5-6" deep (a real nice "V") . Late last fall after the rain the strips were just ribbons of mud, very little fracture of the soil sideways from the knife.

I was hoping someone would concur with me on this and make me feel better, but in the end you may be correct and we may be dealling with this with a mounted planter.
