Processing here is .40/lb. You do a good job feeding and selecting calves in the first place and they could be the tenderest, juciest you ever had. I used to raise bulls and have fed out a few steers for myself. Altho not pushing them in any way, I used the rule of 2% body weight in feed and GOOD free choice hay. Fed til they were 1000 to 1200# cause I didn't want steaks that filled the plate. We even had marbling in the round steaks, and the local processer had nothing but good to say about our carcasses. You get it done right and you'll never go back to store bought beef. Also, we raised black angus beef with emphasis in the AI breeding on growth and marbling. Less on the rib eye area.
