It depends what you want to learn.

The national notill conference (January?) usually attracts corn belt farmers who are generally more conservative with their management and despite the name (no-Till) not a big % actually use that practice.

no-till on the plains (jan-Feb) is a good conference for dryland cropping and attaracts lots of more aggressive producers. It usually has around 1000 farmers and provides great info and.

I agree with Plowboy. Free conferences are usually worth what you pay to get in, either that or they are sponsored by two manufacturers and thats all you hear from.
