As usual, stuff is all over the board.
Heard of some Alfalfa mix out of the field for $5.25 small square bale, then a neighbor told me he's getting grass hay delivered in for $2.00 per small square. Personally, I'm planning on $4.00 small bale out of the field straight across the board if we make any. Sold 100 ton ofRed Clover/Timothy Yesterday for $100 ton, plus trucking. 3x3 squares. Sold one semi load of straight Timothy, mid bloom, for $75/ton. 3x3 squares Got 80 bales of rained on red clover/timothy that looks real good I want $80 ton for or it sits. Heard of some grass hay at $40 a 4x6 round bale, which should be in the $65 a ton range. Been selling a few 3x3x8's of grass hay to horse people at $50 a bale, or around $110/ton. I don't know there's really been a market set on Alfalfa big bales in this area yet.
