E.Central MN | Check the Albert Lea Seed House site, www.alseed.com They describe the various millets in their catalog, probably on their website, too. Japanese millet is ok, don't plant German millet(foxtail) as that doesn't regrow. Cut during the boot stage and leave 6-8" of stubble so it regrows faster. It makes good hay, but if I had to do it again I'd plant alfalfa with a barley cover crop to get more value out of the investment. I didn't buy my seed from Albert Lea, can't remember where it was produced, but it contained some weed seed. I didn't need that. | |
