North Central Kansas | I'm with Jim, I don't see feed costs lowering at all. Were finally making some money now, but how long will this bubble last? Sure cattle prices are up now, but what if people stop eating steaks because prices keep going up. I haven't seen the cost of beef in stores/ restaurants rise the way cattle prices have. Surely someone is taking it in the shorts. How long will that last before the price is passed on to consumers, and they say "hmm... chicken tonight." I like to be optimistic too, but one disaster like a mad cow scare could take out a lot of guys that get caught with a bunch of $$ invested in these high dollar cattle. | |
