Decaturville TN | You guys that are getting the .7" and 1" rains should be very thankfull. Here on the home farm we have only had .25" in the last 31 days and that was in 2 different rains. The rain on May 15 was only .5" and we were really dry then. I noticed the corn is starting to tassel today. Don't look like it will make much of anything without major amounts of rain very soon. Things could change I guess but when it is this dry this early seems like odds are against it. Drinking is not the solution... could make things a lot worse. My wife tells me we have never gone hungry but it sure is depressing especially when crop prices are taking off like they are today and we probably won't have much to sell. | |
