Subject: Applying Straw Mulch (pics)



Malheur County Oregon
This what we are up to right now. After the final sidedressing and layby cultivaton We use this on fields that have a tendancy to not soak up well or have some fall at the end of the rows. It really helps keep the ends of the fields from washing away and helps with infitration.

It kinda varies on how thick you apply the straw but anywhere from 5-10 bales per acre. The guys follow along behind scattering a big clumps that get spit out
