Subject: Any ideas for solar assist drying wheat?

East Palestine, Ohio (Columbiana Co.)
Wheat cutting still a few weeks away, and propane prices has me trying to think of ways to get more bang for the buck for running the fans on the bins to air dry the grain. What I've come up with so far is 1 or 2 bale wagons covering the floor and maybe 2/3 of the way upwith black plastic and doing the top and down the sides with clear to let the sun in, using a piece of abs pipe for duct pipe. Any other ideas or working projects out there? We used to dry our corn from panels we made on the outside wall of our machine shed, and that was using late Oct. early Nov. sun power. I would think the July solar effect would have to be far stronger, and therefore quicker........(*Note I've been wrong before........)

Any thoughts-comments appreciated. Have a good one....The Dumb Farmer
