Yeah, we have some glutton acres around here that have some limited acreage in corn without irrigation. In a year like this and our sandy soils, it looks b-a-a-a-a-a-a-d. Some of these same ones made good cotton in those same fields in the face of a tough early season dry spell last summer. Cotton, especially some of the full season and more indeterminate varieties will wait, and make a crop when the rain comes, but that south Georgia corn sits there and misses its chance.
